handwoven zipper pouch : process
A little of the process. They exterior textile is handwoven on a vinage floor loom. Taken off, pressed and sewn. Each zipper pouch is lined and handstiched with selvage denim chambray. A leather corner detail is hand sewn with waxed linen.
I am still amazed by the process of turning fiber to fabric.
Four different zipper pouches available in the shop. Each is one of a kind, the pattern...

custom work
My first custom project. I was asked to take this vintage briefcase (above) and add an adjustable shoulder strap.
I was afraid to structurally attach the strap to the existing bag because the leather was so dry. Instead I wrapped leather underneath the briefcase with adequate cut outs for the brass feet on the bottom.
This was also my first leather dye job. I used vegetable tanned leather...

girls cabin weekend.
Official name, panty party, but I don’t talk that way. I am a lady. This is a belated post (as they all are) from a few weeks back. Eight of us piled into two cars and drove out west. We spent two nights on the Oregon coast. Wood burning fires, home cooked meals, walks on the beach, coffee, wine, Polaroid, 35mm, iphone instagramming, karaoke, knitting, tarot cards, thrifting, antiquing...

Perfect time to start fresh. I am looking forward to pushing myself this year. Take more walks, read, write, got to museums. Spend less time on the internet.
Shelia Hicks: Weaving as Metaphor. I have been coveting this for over 3 years.
I was also gifted this beautiful Allen 4 harness counterbalance loom. Made in the 50’s just east of Portland, I am looking forward to bringing it back...

light
the light in the early morning has made it hard to get out of bed. the crispness is in the air.
weekends
…are never long enough.
crisp
holding on to these days of fall before the rain sets in. we took a short road trip to sauvie island to find the perfect pumpkins.
the coast
Apologies for all the miniature shots, I just couldn’t help myself. A quick day trip to the coast, to Astoria and down to Cannon Beach with friends.
camping :(
fall is here. looking back at the drive back from the coast, it is pretty amazing.
photos from the unsucessful camping trip, or the drive back. when we arrived to the camp site, the firepit was in a pool of water. we knew it was over.
we came home and had a fire in our bbq, i was still able to smell like campfire.
estate
Estate sales give me the creeps. Most of the ones I have been to have been run by skeez balls with dollar signs in their eyes. I feel horrible pillaging through the belongings of someone who has recently gone.
Last weekend I happened upon the treasures of a well traveled woman and an estate sale put on by a few of her friends. What a different atmosphere. I feel lucky to walk away with these...

cabincraftpartyweekend
I didn’t get to grasp my summer heat till the last few weeks. Now that I have hold, I won’t let go. Last weekend I was lucky enough to spend it with some swell peeps in a cabin close to the ocean. It was full of food, wine, beach, river, walks, goodwill, seances, photos, swimming holes, casino and sun. I am feeling pretty lucky right now.
tommorow we are headed to the...
